I just got a cockatiel who is 3 months old (Bailey ). Her main diet is 3/4 Kaytee cockatiel food & 1/4 Kaytee Exact. (and veggies fruits, etc of course!) Anyway, I think I want to switch her diet because she is basically picking out all of the sunflower seeds & barely eating the rest. Which are better for a tiel- Nutriberries or pellets. Or are they both the same as far as nutrients go? Thanks for your help!

i use pellets and can personally recommend them, my birds have more colour and are in better condition and seem happier since we converted their diet to pellets. I cant really comment on nutriberries as i have never used them and never seen them available anywhere near me - sorry!

Hi, I use Vitakraft seed and it has everything in it, and also again by Vitakraft I buy the Coctail Frutti. You can get these on www.24parrot.com it is a very good site. Also I make my own egg food up. Hope this helps you.

I buy a parakeet mix, it suits all small birds, and then i put other bits in individually. I bought a vitakraft cockatiel mix, Kaeci really loved it and got stuck in...then my dog nicked the rest of the bag poor Kace..only had one potfull.. I mix my own fruit / veg mix, with bits i buy in normal shopping. Ive been trying to make a salad sprout mix, where you soak he beans etc..ive tried 4 times, and all it turns out is a yukky, smelly mix , which goes in the bin Kaeci has just discovered dried chillies, and peppers..which were soaked a little :-[yummy

I feed my tiels Trill cockatiel seed mix, Harrisons pellets and heaps of veggies. I use the pellets more to supplement the seed than to replace it.
