For a moment there I thought we had missed your birthday What a lovely, lovely present! My Mum would Never buy me a bird I would say a boy - some sites you read say a lutino is the only one you can tell by the darker cheek patches, others say you can't tell at all. But he looks identical to my Cheekyboy!

I went to the pet shop today (not the one he came from) and had a look at their tiels, they had a few lutinos there and two of them had really pale cheeks, the other one had bright ones like Berties, the assistant said that the paler were girls and the darker was a boy which is the only thing I based my decision that Bertie must be a boy on!!

Wow lin, I just had a look at the pics of Cheeky Boy and he does look the same!!! Thing about Bertie is that from a distance of only a metre or so away his eyes look black, it's only when you look really close can you tell they are red! Weird!

Have a look at the cage I have just ordered for Bertie and Baby fluff (if they get on together that is!) Think they'll like it? I hope so, I think it's soooo cute, it looks like a little birdy castle!! Oh, I am having second thoughts about Berties name! Every time I talk to him and say 'Hello Bertie' it sounds too much like I am saying 'Hello birdy'!!! Thought if I am going to give him another name, I had better do it before he learns this one!! What do you guys think? Does he look like a Bertie? I also considered Eddie, after one of the kids in my class that have just left. Oh, I had a look on a whole load of tiel sites and am convinced of his maleness now

I know lin.... being a bit silly I guess!!
Now, Lin, really, you are just being a bit ridiculous aren't you?!! Birds going all the way to America for the filming of Oprah to complain about the lack of cages!!! They would do better to stop off here and buy themsleves a decent one, then they wouldn't have to deal with all the fan mail! #wink#
Hehe, glad you like it Scully! Can't wait till it arrives, I have ordered a whole load of toys and chewy bits to go into it aswell!!! Honestly, once I have started buying stuff for my pets, whether its the dogs or the birds, I just can't stop, just today I have spent about £300!!! EEEEKKK, don't tell Mr O about that one!!! #shocked#

I know Sal, I am sick! I can't stop looking either!! When I went to the pet shop I saw a beautiful cinnamon kak, who came over and was talking to me, I turned to look at Mr O who just walked away shaking his head!!! hehehe! I must remember to take my medicine! ;D Mr O also thinks that the new cage and actually Puku and Ollies cage are both waay too big and over the top! No matter how many times I tell him that when it comes to birds, no cage is too big! He thinks our house is turning into an aviary because every second that I am home, the birds are out and he has started calling Puku, 'The Destroyer' because she keeps landing on his bookcase and chewing the edges of his books, so I have to cover it up now, I just think that clever little Puku knows that he doesn't like her!!!! Oh BTW, I can't remember who told me to get one of those spiral perches but I got one for Bertie and he absolutely loves it he goes round and round and up and down!! How cute!! So thanks whoever that was!!

Hey Dawn Love Bertie My Bertie (& Betty!) say hello to him! I think I might have mentioned the spiral perch thing when I brought Ollie up - so glad that Bertie loves it - my Kaks adore theirs, and it's great fun to see them running in circles with big grins on their faces

I actually bought it for Puku and Ollie but when I got it home I realised that with everything else in their cage it would make it just too crowded... think I have just bought them too much! I might do some rearranging and buy them another one after I have seen how much Bertie loves it, I can tell the kaks will love it even more!
