any tips on getting an avairy? i measured a space 8ft long, and either 3 or 4ft wide. Its going against a wall, and on concreate. I may put Sugar and Spice in as well, but that will all depend how they all get on together. Only for the warm weather as well. Its not in direct sun, and the wall should give them shelter too. I am going for wood, but tell me if you feel thats not so good. I have not seen any metal ones as yet.
Battie im off to our birdie place tommorow, about midday, if your around getting birdie bits, love to meet you.

Hey Scully I was at Riverside today, but forgot to get my Sunflower seeds, so will indeed be back there tomorrow Be warned though - she has two stunning baby tiels there at the moment, so if you don't want to take one home, don't even look out the back!! It would be great to meet you, and perhaps treat to you a cup of tea/coffee at one of the garden centres as a thank you for all the help you've given me over the last few months! Let me know what time, and who to look out for I'm so jealous that you're getting your outdoor aviary - I'm looking a getting a large indoor one made. A friend of mine is a carpenter, and I'm hoping to talk him into making me something like one of these large ones on this website (link below) - I'm sure he'll be able to do it for a fraction of the cost (I'm even secretly hoping to be able to have a rabbit hutch built into the bottom - hehe!!) www.birdaviary.co.uk

Try to leave a gap you can get down between the wall and the cage - other wise the mice will nest in there and you won't be able to get to them.

Not just any baby tiels Scully - drop dead yummy baby tiels! One almost completely white, and one almost completely lemon - it would be a terrible shame to think that they might go to someone who wouldn't truely appreciate them now wouldn't it If I had more room I would have taken them both home on the spot - they look like such wonderful little characters I'm more than happy to be a blame magnet too!

Batty i had an idea ages ago..
Go buy a a nice old secondhand wardrobe, with one bottom drawer. The bottom drawer will be the pull out for cleaning. The doors and sides will need to be cut out of course, and square mesh put in. Lights can be covered inside if necessary, that way you will not need to cut so much of the sides, perhaps just a few squares or circles.
hey presto..a cage as a bit of furnuture.
or go to our birdie place..they have a small wooden indoor avairy
