He is definitely a big boy Fred - he is weighing around 470grams now. He is such a picky eater which is worrying for a Grey as they have so many specialised needs. At the moment though he is eating a fairly well balanced diet. I cook for him twice a day and most of that either gets thrown at me or on the floor hehehe gotta love him!

I can see why you love him so much. In my opinion you wont find a better bird. well done he is so nice. I don't know anyone here in Tessie with a Congo Grey when I saw pics of Monty I had to put my eyes back into my head. Monty is a stunning Bird

Oh wow, he's all grown up now isn't he. Haven't seen pics for a while, you must be treating him right he looks fantastic.
There is an African Grey in a shop near where I used to live, he is in a small cage and has shredded newspaper in his cage. It breaks my heart when we go in there, he calls to everyone and I always go and talk to him and he just looks at you. I do hope he gets to fly sometimes but I don't suppose he does. These magnificent birds are so intelligent as you say if you are not commited in time and financially you shouldn't get one. I think people don't realise either how clever they are or how long they will live.
Congratulations on being such a wonderful owner, Monty is lucky to live with such a nice thoughtful owner.
