Hi guys, After another trip to a local garden centre I've had my heart tugged and ended up buying another bird. Why on earth garden centres and the such are allowed to sell any kind of bird is beyond me but I'll spare you my moans for a while lol. They have sold me what they class as a Blue Pennant Parakeet? I'm a tad confused as I've searched these birds on the net and not found out much about them and the pictures I have found have not looked much like my (no name as yet) little blue fella. The nearest pic I've found is this one though mine does not have any blue running from beak to neck - he's mottled grey there. Can anyone give me any info please? I've only had him 2 days so as soon as he's settled I'll get some pictures up Deb

HMPF! The bird looks like a blue Crimson Rosella - Crimson Rosella's have the blue cheek patches. Paleheaded & Eastern Rosella's have white cheek patches - so yours could be either of those. If it's a hybrid or a colour mutation it could be harder to determine his exact species.

As soon as he's settled in I'll get some pictures up

If he is a blue crimson rosella I am jealous! I recently saw one advertised over here for sale and it was about $800!

Oh wow, what a bargain. Obviously they didn't know what they were selling. It may pay to keep an eye on what else they sell LOL
