I aquired 2 galahs last weekend. Fred is at least 9 years old and can talk a little Italian as well as English. He is such a showoff and loves attention. Seems he's taken a real liking to me. I was also given the aviary that Fred was living in as well as his breeding log. The people I got him from have 2 of his offspring but didn't want any more birds and they were worried about Fred not having a mate for this breeding season. The hen was a rescue but I think she was someones pet that escaped or was let go as she can talk a little. I have no idea how old she is but she's a very good size. Haven't got a name for her yet though. I was calling her Wilma like in the Flinstones but it doesn't suit her. She's quite inquisitive but keeps her distance. We don't have any probs with sparrows here. I'm gonna do some renos to the cage at some stage. It came as a package deal with Fred.
