My wonderful girl Mumma Budgie (White DEC) passed away around noon today.
I have been expecting it as she hasn't been herself for the past couple months & in the past couple of weeks she has started biting - not alot but she was never a biter.
She was a good age. I do not know exactly how old she was but I'd had her for 5-6 years and bought her as an adult.
She produced some gorgeous offspring including Daz's Jazz and my Violet Dominant Pied (etc) that caused a stir trying to identify him.
She also raised at least 15 foster babies. Truly a wonderful mother.
Her husband was by her side. His was a beautiful love for her. I am concerned about him now as ever since he met her he has been smitten. I tried to get him to breed with other girls but he just wasn't interested. He only had eyes for 1 girl in his life (MB bred with any male that came along lol!).
This is my tribute to Mumma Budgie. R.I.P. gorgeous.
This is Mumma Budgie - always calm & didn't squirm when held (excellent for an aviary bird):
Sitting on eggs - one of her favourite past times, the other was raising the babies:
What is it human?
Time out from the bubs:
Mumma Budgie & her husband (I hope he'll be okay):
She is half of "My Weird Girls" when 2 hens shared the same nesting box:
Some of her babies:
Jazz and her sister:
That boy:
Babies she had with a yellow & green Dominant Pied:
Some of her foster babies:
I hope you enjoyed the photo's.
