Hi all, I need a little help. I came home from work today and found my parakeet, Bella, with a puffy eye that looks pink-ish. Her eyelid is what is swollen. I don't think here eye was puffy this morning. Her mate does pick on her and they fight, do you think that he would have pecked her eye? Does anyone know of common eye diseases for parakeets? Thanks! P.S. It almost looks like her eyelid won't close all the way.

It sounds like it is an injury to me, quite possibly from a quarrel, (I can't really see a disease getting that bad that quickly) thought it could just be an eye infection without a wound. Either way, if it is infected (the puffiness suggests that) she'll probably need antibiotics of some sort, but it is hard to say without seeing it.
Eyes are delicate, so I don't have any home treatment ideas. She needs a vet ASAP, especially if it is so bad that she can't close her eye. That can lead to further complications. Hope you can get her feeling better soon!
