Hello everyone , First of all thanks again to Karen for help already given .
I found this site by visiting a Australian site ,but being new, it is almost dormant .I spotted Karen's activities there ,read some of her posts and followed her over here.
I ,we ( my wife Lorraine and our six kids ) are " BIRD CRAZY ". We are lucky enough to live on acerage ( cows , horses , chickens , etc.) Four years ago we bought our daughter a H/raised cockatiel ( cost a fortune, lol ).From that one bird grew a family obsession.
I've been told you guys like pics,I'll try and post some .

Hey xris, glad you could make it. If you needed the South African place to get your birds dna's there is a place in Melbourne that does it too. I've used them myself and they are very good. Sorry, I didn't know you were in Oz. I'll get the details when I get home tonight - pretty sure I still have them.

Thanks again Karen , it finally clicked when you said "paste it where you want ".I was trying to paste it in the box on the side ;D That is Babe ,I bought her for my wife last xmas . Babe is one year old now .A friend of mine breeds about six each year, but last year he had two finished being H/raised and noticed that both chicks had what he thought were broken and rehealed wings .Both chicks , both wings , thought to be caused by one of the adults landing on them .Since been told that it can be caused by heat stress causing muscle wastage . What ever caused it , it brought her into my price range . Babe has an outdoor cage ,but spends nearly every day wandering around .She spends most of her time combing the ground and climbing over the aviaries. She comes up the back stairs for her daily cuddle ,and normally will put herself to bed . Thats my knee by the way ,I went out last evening to take a few pics and she wouldn't stay still for the camera .lol here's a couple more ,getting dark though.

The numbers just show the pixel size of the pictures, they cannot be removed. We never tire of pictures, just look under any bird group and you'll see how we love them. This is a link to Cockatoo & Rosella Crazy - feel free to post as many pics as you want. www.birdcrazy.proboards2.com/index.cgi?board=cockroscrazyI gather she cannot fly? She certainly looks like a cheeky girl.

does any one want to see more pics ? ( or not ) Oooooh YES PLEASE lol You might want to try opening an account here - photobucket.com/ - you can upload your pictures much the same as the ImageShack website, you'll get an IMG Code that you can use to put your pics up in your posts and even better - no more numbers

Hattonvale , up until a few months ago known as desert country .Karen will know just what I mean . For those who like pics , this is George .His long time mate died this year. While she was alive he would encourage visiters to come and scratch his head by saying "Hellooo "and tilting his head , then he would pounce . Nasty little bugger he could be .I never trusted him. I moved him closer to the house after she died, into a smaller aviary. After six or so months he has totaly changed .Now when you change his feed he will come up to you for good scratch and a pat. Maybe a future partner for Babe . This is a blow in ,been around for a few months now, follows me at feeding times along the top of the aviaries .Looks like its indoors ,but it's outside next to a truck pantech body.

Heck yeah! and we'd get the odd shower that would be just enough to make the places green and visitors would say "don't look like you are in a drought" honestly!
