Please someone help me! I have a Rosy Bourke parakeet named Sherbert. I went to go feed him this morning and I found blood splattered all over the table where his cage sits, and blood on both of his perches. I looked at him to see if anything was wrong but he looked just fine, I tried to take him out and he was all skittish and scared. He's just not acting normal, he usually lets me take him out with no trouble at all. I am really scared and worried, and don't know what to do at this point. :'(

Sounds like he may have wrenched his toenail. They tend to bleed alot making it look worse than it actually is. Don't take him out or clean his cage/perches just yet. Give him some Spark (electrolytes) in his water and keep his cage covered for a day so that he can recuperate without disturbance. If you can put his cage in a room that doesn't get much activity. He will be fine, mine do that all the time.

That is understandable. I'm sure there is a secret bird gene in every bird that says "scare the heck out of my human whenever possible". My budgie scared me 2 years ago when I thought she was going to die - she laid an egg in my hand and was back to normal 2 minutes later. Definately scared me seeing her all fluffed up on the bottom of her cage panting.

Karen you are indeed a life saver! I'll remember this if it happens to me, I bought Ross and later I noticed he had no left front toe, scared the heck outta me but it was alright.

Birds can also lose their toes in the nest especially if mum or dad are a bit exuberant in cleaning their bubs.
Ross is perfectly okay without his toe?
