I wasn't sure where to put this....but I was going to introduce my budgies, and ask for some advice. I have 8 right now.
Dominant Sky-blue pied cock- Samwise, and his hen, Rosie- Laurel Opaline. This pair has a history of having chicks that die in the nest, can't fly well until they are a lot older than normal, or have beak malformations. :-*It's not the food, because other pairs have bred in the same conditions and have been fine. What should I do with them? :PThey currently have two babies in the aviary, a really light blue with greywings, and a cobalt pied. They are getting to be better flyers now.
True Violet cock- Johann (Sebastian Bach) and his hen, Lizzy-dominant sky-blue pied. Question with them is: are they capable of breeding? They both have foot related handicaps because of my lack of knowledge in the beginning. Johann had scaly foot, and both of his feet are not very flexible, so he can't hold on very well. Lizzy broke her leg and it was never set properly, so pretty much she only has one to use. (Please don't kill me, I didn't know any better, and I feel awful now)
And the last pair: Lovely laurel cock named Dude, and his hen, Anna- reg. green. They are great breeders and have had some gorgeous babies. They are my favorites, really nice birds that I got after I knew more. I'm much more careful than I used to be. So anyway, any advice would be great. Thanks!
