Snowflake is now at peace,
What a sad day, I have just come from the Vet's who were absolutely great.
Snowflake is what I named a little white budgie I had rescued from someone who didn't take real good care of their birds.
She was so badly covered with Scaly Mite she could not stand and would constantly be on her back.
I took her home and treated her and she responded well all the scale had been removed and she was able to perch something I suspect she hadn't been able to do for a long time, as she was always breeding constantly.
I noticed she was drinking copious amounts of water so that had me thinking kidney tumour and that is what she finally died of kidney failure.
The last two days of her life she was unable to walk, she just kept fluttering her wings and moving back wards much like a baby starting to crawl.
She was such a beautiful little bird and so bright she was still eating and drinking, but I didn't think it fair for her not to be able to live her life as a budgie should. Flying, perching and being normal.
I spent some quality time with her before she went to sleep knowing I did everything I possible could for her.
R I P Little SNOWFLAKE I LOVED YOU even though I only had you for a short time.

The Indian Ringneck Breeder's Handbook Author : Phil Robson ISBN 0-9579657-0-2 I have this and it's the best book on IRN's and is very easy to understand for the beginner and advanced owner. You should be able to get it at any good bookstore.

For hand raising the bubs get yourself some Roudybush Formulae, it is more expensive than most but it is the best for IRN's. It has all the vitamins, proteins, minerals and everything you need. Egg and biscuit is just that and you have to add the vits and min to it. Phil Robson actually lives in Qld and is a dinky di Aussie and this is what he uses, he actually sent my friend it when she was starting out and hand rearing IRN's, and she also swears by it.
Good luck and keep us informed of their progress. There is nothing better than having your own hand raised ringie
