well mum is sitting on 7 eggs as of 2 day here's hoping there will be no more. This will be her last clutch for awhile as this is her third in the last 6 mths and she needs a well earned rest. If all seven hatch that will make 18 babies for her so time for a rest.

Mum is a yellow lutino and dad is a cobalt blue. The last babies from this pair were a sky blue with white wings, a cobolt blue with clear wings and as hubby called the last one a Ukrainian bird. Yes I was confused at the time. He has a Ukrainian background and the bird was the colour of the Ukrainian flag Blue and Yellow. had a blue body, yellow head and yellow and blue wings very pretty

she might drop another egg in the aviary but with you taking out the gourd her hormones will start to regress and she can grow up slowly

They can lay fore they are 12mths old but a lot of them are not viable eggs and make poor mums and that is a blueprint for disaster as they learn poor habits from the start.
I don't breed mine until they are at least 16 to 18mths old, I lean towards the 18 more. The body structure and reproductive organs are well developed then as well as their parental instincts.
By breeding them at this age they will also show after their first adult moult if there are any feather deformities or skeletal ones as well, by this I mean if they had any soft developed bones due to over crowding and injury they had strengthen their bones and they are well formed.
Take the nesting box out if you have one in the aviary, that will also discourage her from laying poor little baby.
She is trying to grow up too quick.
Hope that helps good luck.

yeah the right one is underdeveloped and does not function. It is only the left that does all the work and that is in all birds, chooks and ducks

Lin I had the same thing as you yesterday I noticed my Albino cock budgie Fred had some blood on his tummy feathers and after close examination I discovered a tiny blood spot on his leg near the elbow that's they best way I could describe it. It was not bleeding profusely so I think he just knocked himself, this morning he was okay when I checked him. I put him in a hospital cage to be on the safe side but alls well So don't beat yourself up about it you are a GOOD BESTEST MUMMY and birds are tough little buggers they just like to worry us, like our kids do. Hugs

sorry to here your baby is not well.
Another way to try and get your birds to eat fruit and vegies is to grate them and give in small lots to start off. Don't leave fruit and vegies in the cage as they go off real quick.
I find with them being grated the birds find it much easier especially when they haven't had it before and don't know what to do with a large piece of fruit or vegie.
I would take him back to the vet and ask what is wrong, the best way is to ask questions of your vet and keep asking until you have the answers, that is the only way to know what the problem is.
My vet says to me now to answer your questions before you ask otherwise and I quote " I will have no peace until I have, you ask all the questions you want." buts that's me Mrs Want to know it all about my birds health heheheh
