can't log off going to bed to read a likely story is that why I've been married so long 36 years to the same bloke. when I got married it was 25 years for murder now it is 10 years and u are out in 6 with good behaviour Hey I wouldn't change a thing I believe in the saying "When you're on a good thing stick to it" and that's what I'm doing So go for it Jules

Great news Billie.
Just keep an eye on them incase, it might be the start of Scaly Mite.
They are cunning little devils, you never know something is wrong until it is nearly too late, they hide illness real well.

Just to make sure treat them for Scaley Face as that is what it sounds like.
The treatment should have parafin in it and that will loosen anything that is stuck to the cere or beak. The next day wipe the and you will see the scale easily come off if that is what it is.
Do not rub hard as you can cause bleeding and distress in the budgie.

Buuz it's like a snake shedding it's skin and it happens to the females as they mature. The cere will return to chocolate brown when they are ready to go down, so it is no problem but it is good to get a professional opinion and to make sure there are no "nasties" present. Sometimes it happens to the males when they are no longer fertile and they look like the are turning female, so these ones you keep as pets and let them live out their old age spoilt. Clever little Boris what a fantastic experience. Is that the first egg she has laid. Great pics Now go and have a big Bundy to calm yourself down we all understand you need it after your big fright. I would of been the same a total wreck
