Tassel is one of the babies that we have growing up right now but as of today he/she is our new angel baby. Dazie is doing awesome but this morning I went to check on them in the box and found tassel in a corner alone while all the others were together in another corner. I checked on him and he was not fed and cooler than he should have been so we have him set up in Turkey's first cage. Be ready to get updates on this little guy as well because if everything goes well he/she will end up staying with us as well. Any way here are some pictures from this morning. What a sweet face Already loves to snuggle would you say gray wing or dilute I just like this picture Thats it until next time!!! ~Melissa

Feels like forever ago that I was able to post on this board. Things have been crazy but I thought I would let you know all about the little guy that has changed my life. His name is Turkey and he hatched on March 30 2008 in my house. Unfortunately, he was the only one in his clutch of 5 that survived. Mom decided that she didn't want to take care of them so he became my baby after only a week of life. It was tough going in the beginning but he has thrived and I have never known a bond like this. Any way here are some pictures. Are you my momma?? snuggling up with his giraffe. I can stand all by myself!!! Yes, I am a messy eater and, preen myself Have a great day!!! Here are the most recent pics. Turkey and his ball... Funny Cheeks..... I am so Sweet.... What is that up there??!? la la la what a LONG tail!! and now for the videos: Turkey Ball so amazed by little things Camera Hog He does this every time the camera comes out. He is so in love with himself and the camera!! Hope you like him. Updates are sure to come. ~Melissa

Well I have two turtles at this time. Speedy has been here for a while and Spaz has joined the home yesterday. Here are a couple of pitures. This is Speedy, he is a type of musk turtle. From what I have read these guys only get to be about 4-6 inches. This is Spaz, he is a baby Red Eared Slider. He is very photogenic. Here is his close up. Here is a size comparison of these two. A front view with Speedy being his normal shy self. One final view with Spaz trying to escape, and Speedy just coming out of his shell. I hope you enjoyed the pictures. Their tank is still being worked on and I will get some pictures of that when I have finished it. I also am goi ng to get a yellow bellied turtle sometime soon and will post pictures of him when he gets here.

Today was a sad day in centeral Florida. Houdini decided that today was the day to say goodbye. I don't think that it has really set in yet that he is gone. I still think that he is going to start chirping again and shake my hand one more time. I feel awful, like I should have noticed something before it was too late!! I will NEVER forget him, he really helped me through some stuff in the past year and a half. Here is my sweet little man: ~Melissa

I know that it is a part of life but it still hurts. Just to let you know. It happened just after my mom woke up. She was on the bottom of the cage and shaking, breathing quite heavy. We didn't even have a chance to call the vet. She just went too fast!!!

My first budgie that I have ever bought, loved, and cared for has passed away this morning in my hands. I went to sleep last night with everything ok and I awoke this morning to find her sitting by herself fluffed up having trouble breathing. I immediately took her and put her in one of our emergency cages and covered the sides and the top. I gave hera warm bath and then held her close to me quietly telling her that she would be ok. That is when her breathing deepened and her eyes shut. Right there on my chest. Here are some pictures of her to show her loving personality. RIP my little baby!!! You will NEVER be forgotten!! I Love You!!

The babies are thriving!!!! Little Foot has been renamed Spaz. She is a really crazy chick and is definatly a split of mom and dad. Here are a few pics of my little Spaz. I can't believe that she will be a month old on the 11th. My guess on this one is a: yellow face type 2 cobalt dominant pied opaline hen. Now my little oddball, Petrie. The name really fits, she acts like my first bird that shared the same name. I am just amazed that she came from these two parents. This was the fifth egg that they laid, so I am sure that Tiki is the dad. What do you think??!? My guess: Opaline Sky Blue Dilute (Hen?)

Just a little update, hopefully pics will come tomarrow.
Raven's babies are flourishing and are turning into beautiful little birds. I think that Nemo and Squirt are Normal Cobalts, Dory may be one aswell. Lucky is, possibly, a Normal Sky and Crush is turning out to be a Normal Mauve. I can't believe how grown up they look. Its hard to believe that they are the same litttle pink blobs that they were days ago.
Caeser's clutch only managed to produce 2 healthy babies. Little Foot and Petrie are doing wonderful. L.T. is definately a dominant pied YF something. After seeing 5 normals grow up its awsome to see him/her grow and develop the colors. Petrie is beginning to get fuzzy and getting darker markings on his/her wings as well. It will be interesting to see how they turn out.
Like I mentioned earlier, I will try to get pics up for you tomarrow.

One more little update. Caeser and Tiki are now the proud parents of a day old chick. He or she was born some time yesterday morning and they are thriving. We are going with a Land Before Time theme so this little one has been named Little Foot, however they have also gained the nickname of L.T.
Pics will hopefully come tomarrow or this weekend.

Crush was born yesterday afternoon but he was moved into Caesers nest because Raven was spending much less time in the box and hadn't noticed the little one. He/she is doing well and pics will soon follow.
