Hi Cheeky Welcome to the forum From your description of your tiels moult it does sound like there is something abnormal going on. There are so many different causes of moult problems, and they can point towards an underlying health problem. Your best course of action would be to take her to your local Avian vet for a check up to rule out other causes. I honestly wouldn't take her to see someone who isn't an avian specialist as most vets in general practice have quite limited experience with birds. We do have a large number of contacts posted on here for avian vets - whereabouts are you located?

Hi All If anyone has a spiral rope swing as pictured below please, please, please trim off all the loose bits of rope immediately. I had one of these in my aviary (have done for years), and this morning found one of my cockatiels with her wing tangled in the loose bits of rope. Unfortunately she was already dead and I can only imagine what a horrific experience this must have been for her as she struggled to free herself. My other birds had obviously been trying to help her as she had also been picked at. I realise that this is a freak accident but I really would hate for anyone else, or their Fids, to have to experience this. RIP Zorro x

hehe - I have but they don't seem to be taking any notice I think they may have spotted my grey hairs amongst the hi-lights I'm a wee bit worried about whether they'll be OK nesting where they are as it's on the ground, but the last thing I want to do is try to move them as they're first timers and it would probably scare them away from the nest altogether. Bertie is still being a star and sharing egg warming duties with Gertie

It's still very early days, but I think that Bertie and Gertie are trying to start a family I decided not to put nest boxes into the aviary this year but to wait until next year. Unfortunately Bertie and Gertie seem to have run out of patience They have taken over George and Mildreds little quail house and it looks as though they are nesting in there. I even caught Bertie taking a turn at sitting on the nest while Gertie had a break this afternoon - what a gent eh! I'll keep you all posted and let you know if we hear the pitter patter of tiny claws soon ................

I know, I know I really had to do this though as poor Freddie had 5 boys chasing after her In order to take the pressure off her a little two new girlies have moved into Chateau Batty Meet ............. Scruffy and Sparkle Both girlies 'hanging out' As you can imagine the boys are thrilled to bits and Freddie is breathing a sigh of relief!

The one thing that seems to appeal to even my most fussy of tweeters is grass, just regular 'ole grass They especially love the grass with the seedy bits on top too
