I don't know quite how they do it the budgies are little superstars, and usually put themselves to bed when they've had a bit of a chew on the aviary (It's on the top so I don't really mind ) the tiels however are wee minxes! I can usually dupe George by sneaking him in when he's having a head scratch, but the other 3 are little monsters in birdies clothing I've just put on my mean mummy hat and cracked out the bird net I managed to get Bertie & Gertie, and then waited until Freddie came and sat on my head (thinking she'd got away with it ), and then whipped a towel over my head and got her that way - she was not impressed sneaky mummy

You couldn't have come to roost on a better forum - we are a bunch of happy nutters on here, and if you ask Karen she may even share her straight-jacket with you Seriously though, there are some great people on here with loads of experience between them, and it's really nice knowing that kind of support network is there (OK gushing over ) Can't wait to see piccies of your babies too!

Hi Zeno Welcome to the mad-house we're a friendly bunch on here, so any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Like Scully said finches are fab - loads of varities. One other suggestion would be lovebirds - still nice and small, but very comical, very colourful, and you would also have more chance of them potentially becoming tame. If you give them a quick google, you'll be amazed as just how many colour varities there are. When I win the lottery (tonight according to the lady in Tescos that sold me the ticket!) I'm gonna have an aviary stuffed full of 'em

Hi there and welcome! I don't know too much about the bigger birdies myself, but from a common sense perspective you sound as if you're doing all the right things. I honestly believe that with all animals (feathered, furry, scaly etc), that the key to earning their trust is time - a few sneaky treats don't got amiss either You've got many years ahead with your new guy, and I'm sure that all your patience with him (or her!) now will pay dividends. Can't wait to see some pics!
