What a little sneaker you are, Biggles! Kona turns off the computer also, but she does it by sitting/lying down so that her bum hits the power button. Jasper's latest trick is to take the dried fruit out of his seed mix and hold it in his water dish until is is softer and easier to eat. I wouldn't mind if he actually ATE all the fruit, but now I'm having to change his water every single time I go past the cage. I'm trying to lessen the mess by cutting the fruit up into tiny pieces so that he actually eats the whole piece...

Welcome, Olesya! Wow, I dream about having a macaw someday! ;D I'd love to hear more about John. My green cheek conure, Jasper, is tiny compared to John, but he's got quite the attitude!

I think flight suits are prettty neat, but they can be difficult for a bird to accept. If you are considering flight suits, Erik, this website is a great read: www.pamperedpeeps.com/flightsuit.htmIt is actually the website for Jasper's breeder. You can order flightsuits, see videos, and get a lot of questions answered. The rest of the site is great as well!

Wow, I'm glad that Harry is doing so well... even if his "landings" are a little rough. ;D Hope Minty starts settling down and being happier soon. On the subject of molting... poor Jasper is going through that right now, shedding feathers right and left. He's more hyper than I've ever seen him too, can't seem to sit still at all and looks pretty sad.

((hug)) So sorry about Sky, Billie! Every animal is special, but it seems like the little ones are just extra big inside.

Don't worry, Shanlung, I'm in no hurry. Jasper and I are actually having a relatively relaxed time (although living at a friend's house temporarily) and I'm trying to take advantage of that by just getting really comfortable with Jasper and vice versa. He has learned a new "trick" to get my attention. Rather than shrieking for attention (which I ignored, and he abondoned) Jasper now "bounces" for attention... so hard that it's amazing his feet stay on the ground. Those are some beautiful shots of Riamfada! I think you and your wife made a good choice on the new camera... even if it is the fifth one!

I'll pass your compliments on to Jasper, Karen! Erik, Jazz does put up a bit of a struggle, (squirming, mostly) but the minute the suit is on, he's fine and couldn't care less. He's been wearing flight suits since before he was completely weaned, so he's pretty used to it. He's also just fine with towels, and sometimes he'll even take a nap on his back while wrapped up. That said, if I don't keep toweling him and putting the suit on regularly, he will get wild quickly.

Oops! Erik, I was sure that I had replied to this already! Sorry...
I don't have any special "techniques" really. I just distract Jasper if he gets too lovey, or I set him down and move away. It seems to work well. As for preferring kisses, I've just been doing my best to encourage him when he is in snuggly moods, and he is doing much better and not regurgitating as much.
As Karen said though, he may just be growing out of it!
