Ohh she's stunning, forgive my ignorance, but what kind of parrot is she? Is she fully grown or still a bubby?
So cute tho, me love too.

Hi All I'm worried about poor Harry. Yesterday he looked a bit sorry for himself, today he has spent all day with his eys shut. Robbin has pestered him to get him going, he reacts to preening and opens his eyes if you talk to him. He's had lettuce for the last week so I wondered if it gave him a tummy ache. He has tried to drink but then shakes his head like he's going to be sick. I've not seen him eat today. I've just put him in a seperate cage, give him some rest, in case the pestering is upsetting him. Hope he perks up, its bank holiday so no vets now till Tuesday! This was before he was poorley Please send healing thoughts for Harry Billie

Hi All Robin is doing so well, he investigated my hand today as I held millet for him. I held the millet a bit further away to encourage him to step on my finger to get it. He nibbled my hand a bit so its a start, he's put his foot on me a couple of times so I think he'll do just fine. Hugs Billie Attachments:

Hi All Robin is doing fantastic He ate millet inside the cage from my hand yesterday What a little star. He started to find his voice and as well as chirping over to Minty he will sit and do the quietest little chirping babble so sweet, at last I've found a quieter budgie...I wonder if he will teach the others how to be less noisy or they will increase his volume. Hoping they can go in together in early January. Best wishes Billie

HI All Robin is doing great, he eats millet when I hold it outside the cage and is getting calmer when I put my hand in to change his seed pot. Little star, he landed on my hand several times the other day too ;D Minty called to him and he was flying too and fro between the perches and landed on my hand. He is very adorable and a very sweet natured boy He has been quiet but had a little babble today love, love baby budgies. Best wishes Billie

Thanks Jasmine Robin is awesome, he eats millet if I hold it outside the cage and this moring had a couple of bites when I held millet inside his cage. He is another seed pot miner like Minty and Sky were, dives into the seed pot and kicks the seed over himeself. So I've put a budgie bath with sand instead of water in, on the cage instead as I swear he will get stuck in the pots. He loves it and sits happily in there. Here are some pics of Robin, I need to get them on photobucket but computer not too happy at the moment. billiescraftroom.wordpress.com/2009/12/08/meet-robin-my-new-baby-budgie/Hugs Billie

I did a search online and they reckon 30 days, so I guess I'll go with that then.
Not sure if they will last that long though, Robin and Minty are calling to each other and hanging off their respective walls begging to be closer together. WOuld rather be safe than sorry though, so will have to just let them keep at it.

Hi All Our new baby budgie came home yesterday and is still very nervous. Totally stupid time to bring in a new bird, just before Christmas, but its not a loud affair in this house so thats good. Problem is how long should I keep the birds seperate from each other. Bub has been in quarantine at pet shop for a week before coming here, seems in fine health, superb plumage, clean butt etc. So far he is across the room from the other birds, we have a small house so no option other than this. Problem is DH wants to put up Christmas decs soon and bub is in the only place the tree can go Would 2 weeks be ok, then move cages side by side so they can see each other for a bit before they all go in together? It sounds too short, and I don't want to risk anyones health. Please can anyone offer advice as to how soon it would be safe to get them this close to each other? I don't want to rush putting them in the same cage and new bird is still very young and timid. Thanks Billie

Hi All I'm very pleased to annouce the arrival of a little baby boy budgie to our home today He is very young and timid, so will give him time to settle before I take his picture. Its all MILs fault, she sent us into pet shop for peanuts for her wild birds and I heard cherping, that was on Thursday last week. Saw our little bird in there but he was still on quarantine there till Saturday. So we went back today to pick him up. He is a very beautiful terquoise colour with grey wing markings, gorgeous big baby button eyes and terrifed of everything! Bless. He is also anothe seed pot miner! What is it with young babies and seed pots they dive in head first and try to bury themselves. Poor baby was quite stressed when he came home, so I put on a classic FM relaxing CD on very quietly. This turned out to be a great idea, he calmed down started eating, had a drink and a preen then a little sleep. Bless His plumage is awesome and he is pogo-ing around the cage like a bird posessed so he's very fit n healthy. So far he's across the room from the flock in the big cage. Do you think 4 weeks across the room from the others is adequate quarantine? I want to bring his cage next to the big cage for a few days before he goes in with the others so they can get a good look at each other before they are in together. I haddn't intended on getting a bub just now, but poor Minty was still being left out by Harry and Tiny and was still feeding everything in sight, even after 6 months. Could't leave him without a friend. So happy for them all, just hope they get on! Hugs Billie
