Hi All Just to let you know Harry has been out for a fly today and flew from the arm of the armchair to the seat of the sofa yey!!!! Really convincing fly and a soft landing for once. Harry's getting the hang of this. I held my hand out for him to step up..intending to take him across the room for a second fly, but instead Harry took his moment and flew back in to the cage I put my hand in to help him up, and Tiny was next to him on the perch, they both stepped on my arm so I took my hand out of the cage. Tiny flew straight back in followed by Harry. Tiny has been sitting there preening Harry a lot today. I must get a picture, Harry is having a bad feather day and has a group of sticking out feathers above his cere. He looks like he's got giant moth antena! Poor little Minty is still trying to feed the perches and swing, the other two are not interested Hugs Billie

Harry must have thought it was his birthday today! Tiny spent AGES preening Harry's face! Harry was blissful, he had that silly 'ahhhhh' look on his face. Poor Minty wasn't impressed, he sat on the swing plaintively calling poor little Minty Hugs Billie

I wondered if it was related to breeding. I was going to suggest it might be that she was ready to breed too.
Hope you find your answers and the little bird is ok
Best wishes

Hi All
Well they aren't tooo bad. They seem to be chatting each other up and have no 3 loitering right next to them, but no blood shed. They do this very quiet bubbling sound like they are swearing at the situation.
Can't get a photo, when I put the camera up they seperate! DOH
Hope they sort things out peacefully. It seems to be first thing in the morning and around food.
Not so much viscious fights now. Just quiet swearing!
Hugs

I emailed the company and they said the central pin is Zinc coated so as Zinc is toxic to birds I guess my search continues. The dilema so far has been; if the wheels are metal they are made of zinc or they are paint/plasic covered and I recon my gang will strip the paint/plastic off them ( they are big chewers). What kind do you use? I thought this particular one was the answer as it was made of a solid plastic. Hmmm this is harder than I thought. Any tips for the kind you use would be great, thanks Hugs Billie

Hi All I remember some time ago some people saying they use rat wheels with their birds... hope I didn't dream that up. I was just wondering what kind you use? I have seen this one 'Giant Rolly Wheel for Rats by Savic' www.petsathome.com/This gets around the problem of painted plastic wire as I could attach it to the side of the cage and not have the stand. Has anyone tired these or similar things for budgies?? any advice would be appreciated. I'm thinking it would do for exercise and also bordom buster. Thanks Billie PS found via Small pet/ Degu sorry putting a direct link to the product failed!

I guess its too hot to fight today? After a tussle round first thing they are all to hot to bother and are babbling and dozing quietly.
I guess I should be please they are rushing around again, they have been so quiet and miserable looking since we lost Sky. Maybe there isn't malace in the punch ups, just being boisterous boys???

Well getting Harry out helped, he was too tired to mix things up when he got back in. Hostilities continued today but to a lesser extent I really don't want to do any feathered shopping! I get very stuffy nosed as it is and keep coughing don't want to bring more birds in! It got silly with 5 of them and couldn't face it if we got another and there were fights! Anyone else got odd numbers of birds that things have worked out for? Am I really doomed to major punch ups unless they are four! Things had been peaceful, there were constant squables when Sky was here as they competed with each other for her. Hugs Billie

Congrats Sal He/she's gorgeous. I was going to suggest Oz as a name too. Tiny is forever doing that upside down thing. He will stay there forever just hanging around. Funniest thing is when the others look for him he just looks all around and ignores them. Pretty birdie well done Billie

Hi All Well I don't know what has gotten into the Blur Team but War seems to have been declaired. They seem to have woken up seriously 'in the mood' you have never seen three birds soo close together the one in the middle either fighting or kissing his neighbours! This has gone on all morning, as soon as someone starts kissing someone the other bird starts a fight. Minty and Harry seem to be fighting over Tiny! Tiny will kiss either of them and normally this hasn't caused issue. I cold shower had no effect. They are still then I've just got Harry out to tire him out a bit! Harry is on the roof of the cage and Tiny has had a good few bites of his feet! What a to do! Hugs Billie

Hi Sal
Had a great holiday thanks, birdies were on strict 'as normal' diet, given how Tiny will throw up soon as look at you. Neighbour was worried about looking after him, but I said if he throws up just keep an eye on him. He tends to look thoroughly miserable for about three days then bounces around just fine.
Birdies were all in fine feather and looking glorious when we got home. Treated me with deep suspicion for about three days then were fine. Day four of being home they are promptly moulting again! Hrumf.
